KNOXVILLE - Because color and melody say what words cannot, The Art Market and Gallery, 422 South Gay St., Knoxville, will lend its many colors to the melodies of The Big Ears Music Festival scheduled for March 21-24 in downtown Knoxville.
The gallery will host a month-long March art show “On an Artistic Note”.
Kathy Holland, an Art Market Gallery artist, was recently interviewed by Noelle Harb for a Knoxville Cityview article. Kathy told me that it’s the only true-to-life article on her that she’s ever seen in print. Says Kathy, “It’s me through and through.”
Kathy continues to refine her craft and when I asked her to describe her style of painting she indicated that she is totally over using photos as a reference. “I work directly from life, as-is, where- is or else from drawings and studies done on-site through a sort of translation process. A more immediate and improvisational way of working seems more authentic at this point,” says Kathy.

Recently- Canadian Nature Photographer did an interview and online article regarding Dennis Sabo’s Photography and photographic style.
The feature is interesting as it gives further insight into Dennis, his art style and progression as an artist thru the years, along with his commitment to his personal brand.
Additionally the article / interview provides a nice portfolio of Dennis’s photography shot over the past 5 years.
Each year, members of the Art Market Gallery get together and create Christmas ornaments to be sold to benefit the Community School of the Arts. The School offers exposure to fine arts education and provides mentoring and guidance to East Tennessee’s young people.
