"Honoring the Great Smoky Mountains" is a gallery wide show which will run from August 1st, 2019 to Sept 1st. This show of art inspired by the Great Smoky Mountains and created by our artists is to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountins Institute at Tremont. We will donate a percentage of our sales throughout the entire month of August to sponsor a child or children to be able to attend the summer camp program at Tremont.
Back in 1969 a group of intrepid citizens, including local educators, dreamed of opening a center in the Smokies where students could learn about nature firsthand in the outdoor classroom. The Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont is a result of that vision. The Institute at Tremont is a learning facility tor youth, educators, and adults providing programs that promote self-discovery, critical thinking, and effective teaching and leadership. They believe that education creates a lasting change for people and our planet. From their home in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, their research and residential programs investigate the diversity that sustains all life, develop a sense of place, and cultivate a stewardship ethic that will influence lifelong decision-making.
